Has Moyes finally found a formation suitable to our team?
But who else than a redbull injected Antonio can lead the line in such a high intensity attacking formation?

I think Haller has the attributes to do it with Bowen and Fornals getting close to him as they did with Antonio yesterday, and Masuaku getting to the byline and putting balls in.
Haller more than anything needs to learn to use his physique to shield the ball better - Antonio has also had to learn the same, where before he was used to playing facing goal, now he's playing well with his back to goal and using his strength.
The difference would be Haller would shield, lay off, and then make a run to re-receive the ball, wheras Antonio will look to receive, shield and then turn himself (so Haller will need the rest of the team to come up and support). But he's a more than caable striker and with two proper inside forwards/inverted wingers in Bowen and Fornals playing high up alongside, should have the support needed to be effective.

I think Moyes has found the formation that works.
I’d say on average it is 3-4-2-1
I have to say I don’t actually like 3 CBs, I think it too negative. But Moyes has it working in a very positive way, with lots of fast attacking. It really was a delight to watch.
I think Haller can be the loan forward, but yes will need more support than Antonio.
I hope Antonio does not get an injury, but part of me sees it as inevitable as he pushes himself so hard.
It will be interesting to see how it works against teams like Man City and Lpool. Will they push us back and get us stuck permanently in a 5-4-1 for a very boring sad game?

I reckon you could convert Traore into an Antonio 2.0 but other than that there are very few players like him.

It’s just a classic wingback formation but with one up front instead of the usual two.
You’d think that after we get through this tough patch Moyes might start Haller in a front two with Antonio, but who would you drop?
Maybe have Fornals at ten and convert Bowen into a wingback?

I thought of that, Mex, but the big difference is that Antonio was our biggest scorer at the time. Put him at wing-back and we lose his scoring threat. I'm not sure that Bowen is as much of a scorer, although he might prove me wrong?
Anyway, if you play wingbacks and two at the front, the biggest question becomes, who do you put at number 10. Fornals or Bowen?

I think Cresswell's roll means it's not classic Wingback as when we are in possession he drifts out to play conventional full back - even at times overlapping down the line.
Antonio was tried at regular full back by Bilic where he had the same issues as Masuaku (no positional sense or concentration).
Still think he'd be excellent at Wing Back but he's too important with his hold up play now.
Haller needs to basically toughen up and be more resilient to have a chance of dislodging Antonio

Having overwhelmed a vrey good Wolves side that did for us comforatbly only 10 (?) weeks ago, the question surely remains as to how repeatable that performance is?
Dos that win require all 11 players to play at their peak, or is there more to come?
Conversely, what has to go wrong for us to put in our usual performances against the likes of Burnley? That sentence would usually contain Bournemouth and Brighton, but at least Glenn Murray doesn't start anymore.

To be fair to Antonio, he was tried as full back by a manager who often appeared to shun training players to fit their roles.
Sometimes, the whole team appeared to not know how to play the formation.

He may of found a formation now all we need is for him to find a way of using subs earlier than he does

Against Leicester the formation was very clearly 5-4-1.
Leicester had us pushed back defending a lot, but they did not get through the defense much and had petty poor attempts on goal.
We were good and fast going forward and really exposed that Leicester were overstretching to try and get through our 5-4 defense. However, I would not compare it to a park the bus approach. We attacked a lot, early in the game every time Leicester lost the ball we were streaming forward. Later in the game we were not so efficient and did a bit of clear it up the field to no one in particular, which was a bit disappointing. Our midfield and front man Antonio also did a lot of closing down and Leicester often had trouble to get the ball from their defense to their midfield, which was good.
Definitely 5-4-1.

Well, we took the lead early, so we were probably happy after that to play counter-attack and let them have the ball.
Other than that, Stubbo was right that in attack Cressers moved into a fullback position and Arthur got forward.
Moyes seems to have done a good job fitting our best players into a system that suits them.
